Sieving system cleaning
The sieving system must be cleaned once a month .
Caution: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used to protect the user against health or
safety risks during working tasks . Wear disposable rubber gloves, anti-static coverall, anti-static safety
shoes and safety glass . Wear disposable dust mask rated FFP3 or N99 level protection at minimum ; we
recommand the use of powered air purifying respirator .
Caution: do not perform the maintenance while the recycling cycle is operating .
Parts required :
•
Vacuum cleaner equipped with wet separator and be explosion proof
•
Natural fiber brush
•
Damp cotton cloth
Procedure:
1 . Open the right side door of the printer to access the sieving mechanism .
When the side door is opened while the printer is still powered up,
the status of the interlock prevents the printer to operate during the
maintenance (see "DMP System Response if an Interlock Fails" on
page 9) .
2 . Disconnect the sieving mechanism from the protective
bellow (1) .
3 . Disconnect the sieving unit by unabling the locking
system of the sliding system (2) .
4 . Remove the upper plate of the sieving mechanism (3) .
WARNING: FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS . COMBUSTIBLE DUST INSIDE . METAL POWDERS ARE
FLAMMABLE AND POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN DISPERSED IN A CLOUD AND EXPOSED TO
AN IGNITION SOURCE SUCH AS HEAT OR STATIC ELECTRICITY SPARK . OPERATORS AND SERVICE PERSONAL
SHOULD AVOID DISTURBING POWDER AND CONDENSATES (MANIPULATE CAREFULLY TO AVOID AS MUCH
AS POSSIBLE SUSPENDING OF FINE PARTICLES) .
5 .
If accumalated surplus is existing, then remove the accumulated surplus with the use of natural fiber brush and
antistatic container .
6 . Clean the sieve with a vacuum cleaner while avoiding any contact with it, which might damage it (use of brush hose
recommended) .
7 . Remove the sieve .
8 . Clean the sieve with the use of washer water jet (pressure max : 100 bar), or with the use of an ultrasonic sieve cleaner .
9 . Clean the collecting tank if necessary .
10 .
When the cleaned sieve is dry, install it, by making sure to fit it centrally.
11 . Fit the upper plate of the sieving mechanism . Tighten the screws to secure the plate in place .
12 . Replace the sieving mechanism and attach the protective bellow .
13 . Close the right side door of the printer .
14 . If the maintenance is performed just after the carriage lubricate maintenance, then put the locking key previously
