4. The TOUCHSCREEN should, within
a minute, show the IP address
‘192.168.100.1’. This is the address
of the camcorder. It will assign to
any client (e.g. computer, laptop)
an IP address in the range of
192.168.100.20 to 192.168.100.254.
CAUTION
NEVER RUN TWO DHCP SERVERS IN THE
SAME NETWORK. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE
A DHCP SERVER IN YOUR NETWORK, USE
THE CAMERA IN DHCP CLIENT MODE (P.
31).
Accessing the camcorder
from the network
Using a Mac
1. Establish a network connection (see
p. 31)
2. Click on the desktop area to focus
on the “Finder” application
3. From the drop-down menu on the
top of the screen, select “Go” and
“Connect to Server” (alternatively,
press the key combination
K)
4. Inside the “Connect to Server”
window, type the address “smb://
IPADDRESS/videos” and press on the
“Connect” button
a. When the camera is in SERVER
mode the IPADDRESS is 192.168.100.1
(i.e.smb://192.168.100.1/videos).
b. When the camera in in CLIENT
mode, the IP ADDRESS can be read
off the TOUCHSCREEN.
5. Option A: On Mac OS X v.10.4: A
new window will pop up, asking
for workgroup, user name and
password. Make sure that the
workgroup is set to “3D-ONE”. User
name and password can be left
empty. Then, press OK.
6. Option B: On Mac OS X v.10.6: A
new window will pop up, asking for
user name and password. Just select
“Guest” and press “Connect”.
7. The network share is now accessible.
Make sure to eject the volume when
don’t need it anymore.
Using Windows
1. establish a network connection (see
p. 31)
2. In Windows click Start->Run and
type in the window that opens: \\
IPADDRESS .
c. The IP address is in SERVER mode
192.168.100.1 (type \\192.168.100.1 )
d. In CLIENT mode you will see the
IP address on the TOUCHSCREEN.
8. Press OK
9. A new Explorer Window will open,
showing a folder ‘Videos’.
Remote controlling the
camera
NOTE
To use the remote control interface the
Java Runtime Environment has to be
installed on the computer that shall be
used to remote control the camcorder.
1. Establish a network connection (see
p. 31)
2. Open an internet browser.
3. Enter as URL the IP address displayed
on the TOUCHSCREEN
4. Acknowledge the JavaScript
installation request
5. Click ‘connect’ and check that the
status window displays ‘all fine’.
