Connecting the camera
to an existing network
(DHCP client)
In this mode, the camera expects to
receive an IP addresses from a server.
The camera can then be reached using
this IP address, which is displayed on the
TOUCHSCREEN.
1. Connect a network cable to the
camcorder using the ETH port.
2. Connect the other end of the
network cable to your network.
3. Use the TOUCHSCREEN to set the
camcorder into ‘DHCP client’ mode.
4. The TOUCHSCREEN should, within a
minute, show an IP address assigned
by your network. You can connect to
the camera from your network (see
below) using this IP address.
Using the camera as a
network server (DHCP
server)
In this mode, the camera will serve IP
addresses to any computers attached
to it, either directly with a
network patch cable, or through one or
more network switches. In DHCP server
mode, the camera itself
claims the IP address 192.168.100.1 and
distributes addresses to clients starting
from the address
192.168.100.20 for the first client.
