slider.
If a button is green, it is enabled. Some
buttons change label when pressed; the
label shows the current setting. Press it to
change the setting.
After a certain period of inactivity the
touch panel goes black. Touch the
panel to turn it on again.
The settings on the touch panel cannot
be modified during recording. Turn off
recording if you want to change any of
the settings on the touch panel.
Sensor
In bright conditions, set the shutter to
1/200 s. In indoor conditions with artificial
lighting, set the shutter to 1/50. In low
light conditions set the shutter to 1/25,
but in this case motion blur can easily
occur.
Resolution
Set the resolution to 1080p 25fps for
European TV, 1080p 30fps for American
and Asian TV and 1080p 24fps for
cinematography.
Do not use the 720p modes unless
for very special applications. These
modes use only the central 50% of the
sensor, which reduces the widest angle
dramatically.
Color
Red
The Red value is normally set by the auto
white balancing procedure described
below. You can check here what the
result of the white balancing is. You can
copy the white balance of another
camera to this camera by setting this
value to the same value as on the other
camera.
Blue
See Red above.
Saturation
Set the saturation to 0 unless you have
determined that another value works
better for you.
Sharpness
Set the sharpness to 8 unless you have
determined that another value works
better for you.
Gamma
Set the gamma to 1.8 unless you have
determined that another value works
better for you.
Compression
Set the compression to ‘weak’ unless you
have determined that another value
works better for you.
Network
If you connect the camera to a stand-
alone laptop or desktop, the button
should say DHCP server. If you connect
the camera to a network that already
has a DHCP network the button should
say DHCP client. Press the button to
change the setting if required.
HDMI
If you want to use the built-in displays,
HDMI should be off (HDMI button gray).
If you want to use an external HDMI
screen, the HDMI button should be
green=on.
HDMI freq double should be gray=off
if you have connected a professional
HDMI screen or a HDMI->HD/SDI
converter. For a commercial HDMI
monitor you can set freq double to
on=green.
HDMI OSD (on-screen display) should be
on, the button should be green, unless
you know for sure that you do not want
to see the on-screen display.
Zebra
ZEBRA OLED should be on, the button
should be green. Zebra HDMI should be
on, the button should be green. Zebra
should be Zebra Y (not Zebra RGB).
Storage
Verify that there is sufficient storage on
the disk for your recordings. Recording in
‘weak’ compression mode generates a
