Chapter 7 Software Maintenance

Caution:

The FTP Server program is not supplied with the S7500 series.

When loading a Boot ROM or host software, you need to use a crossover cable to

connect the management Ethernet port.

3) Run the terminal emulation program on the PC connected to the console port.

Start the switch, and enter the Boot menu and then the BootROM update menu.

To download a Boot ROM program, press

Ctrl

and

Ente

r to enter the Boot ROM

update menu when the terminal displays ”Enter your choice (0-5):”.

1. Set TFTP protocol parameter

2. Set FTP protocol parameter

3. Set XMODEM protocol parameter

0. Return to boot menu

Enter your choice(0-3):2

4) In the BootROM update menu, select

to download the Boot ROM or host

software. Press

Enter

and configure the FTP parameters:

Load File name:

Switch IP address:

Server IP address:

FTP User Name:

FTP User Password:

Enter the FTP parameter values and then press

Enter

to start file downloading or

to return to the BootROM update menu. If you

program is downloaded, the system writes the program to the Flash memory. The

III. Loading host software

Follow these steps to load the host software of the switch:
