■ An iPhone adapter USB Power Adapter

■ A laptop or computer USB connection

■ Any adapter that supports under 2 amps at 5 volts

If you need to use one of these lower power sources for blackbox, you may be able to use
a separate power supply to power the MIDI device. If the power supplied is insufficient,
the MIDI controller may not power up and blackbox may have unreliable behavior.

POWERING MIDI DEVICES

When you are using an external USB MIDI device with blackbox, you
will need to ensure you have an adequate power supply to drive both
blackbox and the MIDI device. Use the provided USB power cable
with one of the following to ensure adequate power:

■ The power supply provided to plug blackbox into a standard

power outlet

■ A power adapter that delivers at least 2 amps at 5 volts. Newer

iPad adapters will work.

The following power sources may not reliably provide sufficient
power to support blackbox plus a MIDI device:
