To Change the Tempo of a Song:

1.

Push the

Song

button.

2.

Turn the top left knob. The BPM display in the top left will update as you turn the

knob and the song playback speed will change in real time. The default is 120

BPM.

To Add Swing to a Song:
Swing is a feature that makes electronic music sound more like a live performance. The
swing setting in blackbox controls the relative timing of even numbered 1/16 notes
compared to the notes on either side of them. When the swing setting is set to the
default of 50%, the even 1/16 notes occur in their metered place halfway between the
notes on either side. When the number is less than 50%, the even 1/16 notes shift closer in
time to the previous note. When the number is above 50%, the even 1/16 notes shift closer
in time to the following note.

Push the

SONG

button.

2.

Turn the top right knob. The

Swing

setting display to the right of the BPM will

update as you turn the knob and the song playback will change in real time. The

default swing amount is 50%.

Note:

Your sequence must have a step size of 1/16 or smaller for Swing to take

effect.
