Introducing the SMT
This chapter describes how to access the SMT and provides an overview of its menus
.
17.1 Connect to your ZyAIR Using Telnet
The following procedure details how to telnet into your ZyAIR.
Step 1. Make sure your computer IP address and the ZyAIR IP address are on the same subnet. Refer to
the
Setting Up Your Computer IP Address appendix.
Step 2. In Windows, click Start (usually in the bottom left corner), Run and then type “telnet
192.168.1.1” (the default IP address) and click OK .
Step 3. For your first login, enter 1234 in the Password field. As you type the password, the screen
displays an “x” for each character you type.
Step 4. After entering the password you will see the main menu.
17.2 Connect to Your ZyAIR Using the Console Port
This method is only applicable to ZyAIR models with a console port, such as the ZyAIR B-2000.
Step 1.
Connect the 7-pin male end of a console port cable to the port labelled
CONSOLE
on the
ZyAIR and the 9-pin female end to an avaliable serial port on your computer.
Step 2. Run the communications software and configure the communication parameteres as follows:
VT100 terminal emulation
9600bps
No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
No flow control
Step 3. Turn on your ZyAIR and you should see the initial screen shown next.
