Connecting ISDN devices
For connecting an ISDN phone or ISDN PBX with your VMG8825, use the black
RJ-11 jack labeled
ISDN
. Alternatively, you can also use the clamps of your
VMG8825.
For connecting up to 8 ISDN terminals (thereof max. 4 telephones) , an additi-
onal ISDN splitter is required.

NOTE
You can connect an ISDN PBX and/or up to 8 ISDN terminals to your VMG8825.
After finishing the initial setup, the provided telephone numbers are available
at the ISDN access. Modifications of the default settings you can do via the
GUI. Further information is available in the manual.
Assignment of the call numbers for the ISDN terminals needs to be carried out
directly at the ISDN terminal. Also all further settings like Busy on Busy need
to be carried out directly at the proper ISDN terminal.
Connecting IP-phones
Tethered IP-phones need to be connected using the yellow LAN sockets, while
wireless devices are connected via WLAN as discribed in chapter
Connecting
devices to the wireless network
.
You can connect up to 4 IP-phones to your VMG8825. Telephones can be regi-
stered directly at the VMG8825 but also via an external provider. Also concurrent
operation is supported. Further information is available in the manual.
Connecting computers via the LAN sockets
Take the yellow network cable included in the package and use it to connect your
Ethernet-enabled device such as a notebook, media receiver or NAS with the
VMG8825.

NOTE
If you need more than 2 wired LAN connections, you can expand your network
with a switch. For trouble-free operation with maximum transmission speed, you
should only use accessories of category 6 (or later) for the complete network ins-
tallation.
Connecting the power supply
Take the cable end of the power adapter and insert it into the socket labeled
POWER
on VMG8825 and plug the AC adapter into a 230V power outlet.
Your VMG8825 has a mechanical On/Off switch on the side that is marked
