Initial setup
Before performing any of the following configurations, please make sure that your
VMG8825 has been successfully connected as described in the section on
Cabling
at the IP-based port (Voice over IP) .
After the Power LED has turned solid green, enter the IP address 192.168.100.1 or
zyxel.box in the URL address field of your browser. You will now be asked for the
password to access the user interface. This can be found on the nameplate on the
bottom of the device.

NOTE
Please note down the password during the configuration. Without the access
credentials, you will no longer be able to start the user interface. The router would
then need to be reset to its factory settings. All configured settings would thus be
lost in the process.
1. On opening the user interface, the Initial Setup wizard appears. Start it by
pressing
Next
.
2. Do not make any changes on the Link Detection page and allow the automa-
tic detection to proceed by clicking
Next
. The link detection can take several
minutes.

NOTE
During the link detection, the user interface of the VMG8825 may be tem-
porarily unavail-able. In that case, you can refresh your browser manually by
pressing F5.
3. The found link is displayed on the Area selection page.

If no proper link has been found, select an appropriate provider from
„
Other provider“ according to your internet access and confirm the se-
lection with Next . In the next window, you can manually enter the required
parameters that you received from your provider. Confirm the entries with
Next .
„ If a proper link was detected, please confirm it with
Next
and enter the
required parameters that you received from your provider on the following
Internet Access page. Confirm these entries with Next .
4. On the „ Internet Telephony“ page, select the recognized provider under VoIP
Provider and enter the phone numbers you received in the following fields.
Then click Next .
5. You can then end the configuration on the Summary page by clicking Apply .
You will then be returned to the home page of the VMG8825.
