SYSTEM CHECK

The  SYSCHK  program  checks  the  performance  of  the  analog  cards,  as  well  as  the  overall
operation of the GDP-32

24

.  It confirms analog card consistency while acquiring data, as well as

any performance drift since the last calibration.  This check should be performed before and after
any  field  job  in  order  to  ensure  that  the  data  collected  is  of  the  highest  quality.    To  start  the

system check program press

 from the Zonge Logo screen.

The system check can be performed with various parameter settings in order to run either a quick
check, or a more stringent check of the system.  For a quick check, the following parameters can
be set.  These settings should provide a quick Go-NoGo run without the need to closely inspect
the  overall  data.    Any  suspected  error  will  halt  the  automatic  progression  through  the
frequencies,  of  the  AUTO  METHOD,  and  signal  the  operator  with  an  audible  warning.    The
system should then be investigated more closely to confirm and identify and real problem.  See
the System Check section of this manual for more information.

FREQ

Set to the lowest frequency to be used for the job.

CYCLES

At least 2 cycles for the lowest frequency.

STACKS

At least 2, in order to quickly check analog card repeatability.

AGAIN

Set to MAN for speed.

NOTCH

Set  to  OUT.    Notch  filters  can  cause  wide  variability  around  harmonic
frequencies of the filter.  Setting filters OUT, will minimized the chance of the
automatic  sequencing  stopping  for  false  errors,  allowing  for  lower  detection
limits to be set.

VOLTS

Set  to  0.01 v. A low voltage  such  as  this can  help magnify  any  errors  in the
analog cards.

GROUP

This  will  be  set  automatically  for  this  purpose.    Stacks  of  data  will  be
averaged  by  group  for  comparison  with  the  Data  Viewer.    Different  Groups
collected  at  different  times  can  then  be  compared  to  find  any  change  in  the
system.

METHOD

Set to AUTO.

dθ LIM

Set  to  0.1.   Without  NOTCH  filters, this  should provide  a good check. With
NOTCH filters a setting of 1 is appropriate.

dCal% L

Set to 1.  Without NOTCH filters

After the settings are made, press

to proceed with the test.   When finished, press

to return to the Zonge Logo screen.

Enter
