Initial Use and Operation
When started, the aspirator displays the following:
•
The startup configuration while performing it’s self-check procedure.
•
The LED alternately blinks yellow and green. The alternating yellow/green pattern indicates
that the device is ready to operate and that user input is required to begin operation.
•
When the self-check procedure completes, the aspirator the aspirator is operational.
If you want to operate the aspirator in Continuous mode with the initial Adult settings and
Smart Flow enabled, follow these steps.
1. Press the parameter button that corresponds to the procedure you wish to perform.
•
Surgical
•
Pharyngeal
•
Tracheal
•
CASS
2.
Adjust the vacuum level for your use, use the
Dial
to adjust it, then press the
Confirm
button.
3.
Test the aspirator to verify the vacuum level.
4.
If needed, calibrate Smart Flow. See, “Smart Flow Calibration”, in this chapter.
Note:
When Smart Flow is ON, the pump is operating at a low speed. Occlude the suction
tubing to ensure that the collection system is intact and that the set vacuum level is
reached.

Note:
Failure to adjust a highlighted parameter or press the
Confirm
button within 5 seconds
automatically cancels the action. This system ensures inadvertent button presses do not
result in an unintended change
Note:
Upon initial start, Smart Flow is ON (enabled). For information about the
Smart Flow feature, see, “About Smart Flow”, later in this chapter.
