Movable EMC cable screw glands

In con

ﬁ

ned spaces it is often necessary to install the frequency converter as close as possible

underneath the ceiling, a steel girder or similar. Since it is dif

ﬁ

cult to feed the cables into the uipper

EMC screw cable glands under these circumstances, these can be mounted alternatively on the right-
hand side of the frequency converter. The EMC cable screw glands and the plastic caps must be
switched for this (see

ﬁ

g.).

Installation possibilities for EMC cable screw glands

5.4

Protective ground connection

The device has a de

ﬁ

ned leakage current of > 3.5 mA according to DIN EN 60990. For this reason its

connection has to be

ﬁ

x. According to EN 50178 point 5.2.11 or 5.3.2.1 the earth conductor has to

have a cross section of 10 mm

²

or more. If an earth conductor with a cross section < 10 mm

²

is used,

there has to be a second earth conductor. Then the cross section of both earth conductors added has
to be 10 mm

²

or more. For the connection of the earth conductors there are threaded bolts M6 at the

frequency inverter (see picture).
