Dosing of the Acid
a) Determination of the Moisture Content of the Grains
Initially, it is necessary to determine the moisture content of the grain using a
Moisture masuring device.
b) Quantity of Propionic Acid needed depending on the Storage
Time
For the determination of the quantity of acid needed (1/100 kg of grain) in
Dependence of the moisture content of the grain and the storage time, please
refer to the quantities recommended by (see page 8, Abb. 2).
c) Conveying Capacity of the Outlet Auger
The conveying output of the auger depends on the position of the slider, the
inclination of the auger, the moisture content of the grains, the amount of
extraneous matter, he grain size and form (wheat, corn) and the 1000-grain
weight. It is best determined by performing a 30 second trial run. This value
converted to 60 minutes results in the output per hour. Perform the trial run
