5. Electrical Connection of the Unit
The electrical motor (for the pump) is operated with 12V /24V. The coil voltage
of the relay is 12V / 24V Volt.
Ensure that the electrical data stated on the rating plate corresponds with the
provided supply voltage.
The PKT 452/454 is equipped with 12/24- Volt battery terminals and therefore
particularly suited for field deployment. It can be connected to any standard 12/24-
Volt battery.
Attention ! The full flow rate of the PKT 452/454 can only be reached at fully
charged batteries.
In the event that the plus and minus poles are incorrectly connected, the device will
not start up.
Ensure at the electrical connection that the direction of rotation of the pump accords
to the arrow marking. The direction of rotation can be seen at the fanwheel of the
motor. The correct direction of rotation is to the right, respectively anti-clockwise.
5.1 Malfunction Safeguard through Thermal Protection
The DC motor is protected against overload though a thermal protection switch. The
same is mounted at the control box. In the event of an overload or overheating
(intrinsic tempe outside temperature) the thermal protection switch triggers.
The thermal protection switch with a low detent position can only be reactivated when
the thermal protection switch has cooled down again.
6. Connection of the Acid Vessel
After having removed the vessel closure, the suction line, which consists of suction
hose with strainer, is inserted into the vessel opening until the strainer has reached
the vessel base.
