Connect the VOM's leads to two of the locking
pins, as shown in D etail 4-2B, and measure the
resistance.
If you m easure 1000 ohm s or l e ss, the cabinet
a lready has a m e t al l i zed coating an d y o u w i l l
not have to replace it.
I f you m easure an i n f i n i t e r esistance, you w i l l
h ave to replace the cabinet parts, (Refer to th e
chart at the beginning of this section.)
N OTE: In t h e f o l l o w i n g t e st , yo u w i l l u s e a V O M
( volt-ohmm eter) t o m e a s ur e t h e r e s i stance o f t h e
cabinet's top case. If you measure 1000 ohms or less,
t he cabinet parts are already coated wit h a shi e l d i n g
m etallic coating. But if the VOM i n d i c a tes an infi n i t e
resistance, you wil l h ave to replace the top case, base
a nd center c abi net p a rt s w i t h n e w o n e s t h a t h a v e
a shielding coating on t h em . If th e cabinet parts are
not shielded, th e C o m p u ter m a y c a use serious RFI
( Radio Frequency Interference) problems du r in g op -
eration.
