CHANGING DRY-CELL BATTERIES
WARNING
Never attempt to change dry-cell batteries in a hazardous
or potentially dangerous area.
Use only those alkaline batteries listed below. The use of
any other type of battery will render the intrinsic safety
approval of the unit void.
Although not recommended, if zinc chloride or zinc carbon
batteries are used they must be one of the types listed
below.
The only zinc chloride or zinc carbon batteries to be used
are as follows:
Ever Ready R6S Silver Seal; Ever Ready 1215 Super
Heavy Duty; Vidor R6HP; Rayovac 5AA; Panasonic UM3
or UCAR 1215.
The only alkaline batteries to be used with the Minigas
Mk5 are as follows:
Rayovac 815; Duracell MN1500 or Ever Ready LR6/E91
Energiser.
(1)
Ensure that the Minigas Mk5 is switched off and then
remove the battery pack (Section 4.2). This is necessary
in order to locate the hexagonal wrench (2.5mm A/F Allen
key) stowed inside the end of the battery pack.
(2)
Using the Allen key, loosen the captive screw securing
the battery pack cover and then slide off the cover to
expose the batteries.
