CHANGING THE BATTERY PACK
It is permissible to replace the complete battery pack (dry-cell
or rechargeable) in a hazardous environment.
(1)
First ensure that the Minigas Mk5 is switched off.
(2)
To remove the battery pack, hold the Minigas Mk5 in
one hand and the battery pack in the other.
Using the thumb and first finger of the hand holding the
battery pack, depress the two spring-loaded studs locking
the battery pack to the instrument and then pull the
battery pack away from the instrument.
(3)
To fit the battery pack to the Minigas Mk5, ensure that
the electrical contacts between the battery pack and the
instrument are in line, then hold both spring-loaded studs
depressed while pushing the battery pack into place.
WARNING
For instruments fitted with a carbon dioxide sensor, do not
leave the battery disconnected for more than one hour.
Allow a stabilisation period of twice the time that the unit
spent disconnected from the battery.
