6 Care and Maintenance
To ensure the best possible performance of the Device, maintenance must be performed on a reg-
ular basis. To maintain operational safety and reliability of the Device, we recommend entering
into a
ZEISS Protect service agreement
. Please keep the service logs for your Device.

6.1 Safety During Cleaning and Maintenance
Only conduct preventive measures described in the Instruction Manual. All tasks of maintenance,
service and cleaning not described here must only be performed by an authorized ZEISS service
representative. Any unauthorized intervention in the Device or any operation outside the scope of
the intended use can lead to injuries and property damage, and voids all rights to warranty claims.
Only original spare parts from ZEISS may be used.
DANGER
Electric shock due to live parts
When the Device is still switched on, coming in contact with live parts can lead to electric
shock or burn.

Switch off Device prior to opening or cleaning.

Disconnect live parts from the power supply.
6.2 Maintenance Schedule
To maintain best possible performance of the Device, it is essential to perform preventive mainte-
nance on a regular basis.

tects the column vacuum system.
