1. Overview
The FA Link H2 modules for interchanging data between FA-M3 CPUs allow
the configuration of a high-speed data link over a long distance. FA Link, FA
Link H, and FA Link H2 are collectively called FA Link. This document uses FA
Link unless differentiation is necessary.
CAUTION
F3LP32-0N modules cannot be connected to F3LP01-0N or F3LP02-0N modules.
This means that those modules cannot be used together in the same
communication bus (i.e., in the same system).
1.1 F3LP32-0N
The FA Link H2 Modules (F3LP32-0N) use twisted-pair cables which allow easy
installation and selection of four transmission speeds -- 125 k, 250 k, 625 k
and 1.25 Mbps. The maximum transmission distances are 1 km, 500 m, 250 m
and 100m depending on the communication speed.
1.2 Operation Mode
This module (F3LP32-0N) can operate in two modes: normal mode and high-
speed mode. Select the appropriate operation mode to suit your system
specifications.
In normal mode, the system supports up to 2048 link devices.
In high-speed mode, the system can support up to 1024 link devices; internal
processing is faster and the response time is shorter, when compared to
normal mode.
Note
For details on the maximum number of link devices supported in each operation
mode, see Table 2.5.1.
