Call Recording
The IP phones support local and server recording. You can record active calls onto a USB flash
drive connected to your IP phone, and the recordings are saved as *.wav files. If you press the
record key (refer to
) during an active call, this active call will be
recorded and saved on the server.

Recording Using a USB Flash Drive
If you insert a USB flash drive to the IP phone when the phone is idle, the phone will detect the
USB flash drive and display a flashing USB icon. After detecting the USB flash drive, the icon
stops flashing and a message will display on the screen:
If you insert a USB flash drive to the IP phone during a call, a message will pop up to tell you
how much time is available for recording. For more information on the available recording time,
refer to

Recording using a USB flash drive is not available by default. Check with your system
administrator to find out if this feature is available on your phone.
The size of a single recording file should be less than 2G.
Before call recording, especially those involving PSTN, it is necessary to know about the rules and
restrictions of any governing call-recording in the country where you are. It is also very important
to inform all the call parties that you are recording and ask for their consent before recording the
conversation.
