WARNING
•
Before maintenance, inspection, or wiring, be sure to turn OFF the switch on the primary side
switch gear and put up a warning sign. (ex. DO NOT TURN THE POWER ON.)
Failure to observe this warnig may result in electric shock or injury.
CAUTION
•
Never measure output terminal voltage with a voltmeter or synchroscope while high DC voltage
is being applied. Remove the connector IF3 on the printed board IF.
Failure to observe this caution may result in damage to the measuring device or electric shock.
•
All the settings have been made for the inverter TIG adjusting part (the variable resistor painted
in white) as factory settings. Do not touch unnecessarily.
•
To connect a nylon connector, insert the connector after matching the connector number and
confirm that it is locked. Do not apply excessive force to the printed board when inserting the
connector. Never change the positions of the internal wiring or modify the connections.
Failure to observe this caution may result in device troubles.
Check the following items in “Table 12.1 Check Items” and confirm that the connecting parts
of all the connectors and connector cables, and the connectors on the printed boards are
connected securely. Afterwards, take proper corrective action following “Table 12.2 Fault
Analyses.”
Table 12.1 Check Items
Fault
Cause
Fuse blown or improper contact of switch in the switch gear
Base metal cable disconnection or improper contact
Deteriorated insulation of torch, torch cable, water circulator, or water
path
Arc is not generated.
Torch cable disconnection
Torch collet not tightened firmly
Air in shielding gas (gas hose cap nut not tightened firmly)
Arc-start is poor,
or arc is unstable.
Deteriorated insulation of torch, torch cable, water circulator, or water
path
Shielding gas flow rate is not sufficient.
Gas after-flow time is too short.
Oil or the like adheres to the base metal.
Welding bead surface is dirty.
Electrode surface is dirty.
Operational current is too high for the electrode diameter.
Electrode is consumed
excessively.
Air in shielding gas
