7.2 Welding Preparation Procedure
The following describes the preparation procedure to start actual welding.
The numbers in the circles in the table correspond to the numbers in “Fig. 7.2 Operation
Functions.”

Confirm the connections.
Confirm again that there is no defect in the connections.

Turn ON the water circulator.

When the used torch is a water cooled torch,

turn ON the cooling water circulator.
Confirm the cooling water amount according to each torch instruction manual.
Clean the cooling water path once every month. Failure to observe this caution
may result in explosion or burn caused by clogging of the cooling water.

Turn ON the switch in the
switch gear.
When turning ON the switch at the welder, main power
supply indicator lamp
lights.

Turn ON the power supply

rotates the cooling fan.

Select panel or remote.
Use the panel/remote selector switch

to select whether the welding current
setting is to be made by the welder panel knob or by an analog value from the
manipulator connector.

Adjust the gas flow rate.
Open the valve of the argon high-pressure container. Then set the gas adjustment
selector switch

to gas adjustment to adjust the required gas flow rate by using
the adjusting valve of the argon adjuster.
Refer to “13 Welding Conditions.”

Select Low Pulse, No Pulse, or
Middle Pulse.
Use the pulse selector switch

to select Low Pulse (0.5 to 15 Hz), No Pulse, or
Middle Pulse (15 to 500 Hz).
Pulses are not contained in the start curent.
