TIP
Turn the main switch to “OFF” before disconnecting or connecting a coupler.
2 Open or short circuit in the wire harness
between the front wheel sensor and the
hydraulic unit assembly • Check for continuity between the green terminal “1”
and the green terminal “4” and between the blue termi-
nal “2” and the blue terminal “5”.
• If there is no continuity, the wire harness is defective.
Replace the wire harness.
• Check that there is no short circuit between the green
terminal “1” and the blue terminal “2” and between the
green terminal “4” and the blue terminal “5”.
• If there is short circuit, the wire harness is defective.
Replace the wire harness.
• Check that there is no short circuit between the black/
white terminal “3” and the green terminal “4” and be-
tween the black/white terminal “3” and the blue termi-
nal “5”.
• If there is short circuit, the wire harness is defective.
Replace the wire harness.

7. Front wheel sensor
3 Defective front wheel sensor or hydraulic
unit assembly If the above items were performed and no malfunctions
were found, the wheel sensor or hydraulic unit assembly
is defective. Replace the wheel sensor or hydraulic unit
assembly.
Refer to “FRONT WHEEL” on page 4-27 and “ABS (AN-
TI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)” on page 4-63.

Symptom Open or short circuit is detected in the rear wheel sensor.
Order Item/components and probable cause Check or maintenance job
1 Defective coupler between the rear wheel
sensor and the hydraulic unit assembly • Check the coupler for any pins that may be pulled out.
• Check the locking condition of the coupler.
• If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect the cou-
pler securely.
