• Secondary sheave spring free length “a”
Out of specification

Replace the second-
ary sheave spring.

ASSEMBLING THE PRIMARY SHEAVE
1. Clean:
• Primary sliding sheave “1”
• Spacer “2”
• Primary sheave weights “3”
• Primary sheave cam
TIP
Remove any excess grease.
2. Install:
• Oil seals “1”
(into the primary sliding sheave “2”)
3. Lubricate:
• Spacer inner surface
• Primary sliding sheave inner surface
TIP
• Apply Yamaha Grizzly grease or Yamaha
grease F (2.5 g) to the inner surface of the
spacer.
• Apply Yamaha Grizzly grease or Yamaha
grease F (2.5 g) to the inner surface of the pri-
mary sliding sheave.
