Appendix D – Replacing Flat Panel Display Bulbs

Sharp 12.1-inch TFT Flat Panel Display (#LQ12S41)

Turn off the power source.

1.

 

Unlatch and remove the lid.

2.

 

If a touchscreen is installed, disconnect the touchscreen cable (TCH1).

3.

 

Disconnect the KEYPAD1, LEDKB1, and MS2 connectors.

4.

 

Set the unit with the front panel facing down, and remove the four screws holding
the front panel to the display adapter plate.

5.

 

Flip the unit over, lift off the front panel, and set it aside.

6.

 

Unscrew the four screws that attach the flat panel display to the standoffs.

7.

 

Disconnect the bulb connectors from the inverter.

8.

 

Gently lift the right side of the flat panel display, and disconnect the data interface
connector (on the left side).

9.

 

Lay the flat panel display facedown on a protective surface.

10.

 

Referring to Figure D-7, push in the tab at the end of the display with a flat-bladed
screwdriver, and slide out the bulb assembly.
