Cleaning the Print Heads
To clean the print head using your Xerox WorkCentre
The Clean Head procedure cleans the print nozzles and removes any
deposits that may impair printing functions.
To run the Clean Head Procedure:

Press the Menu button, then press the Maintenance button on the one-
touch keypad. The display indicates SELF TEST ?.

Press the Up button. CLEAN HEAD ? appears in the LCD display.

Press the Start/Enter button. PRINTING... appears on the LCD display.
The WorkCentre 480cx prints a head cleaning test pattern. Notice the series
of diagonal lines across the top and bottom of the test pattern. Breaks within
a line of the same color indicate a clogged nozzle. Try running the Clean
Head procedure again if you see breaks in the diagonal lines.
To clean the nozzles from your PC:
In Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0:

Go to Start, Programs, Xerox WorkCentre 480cx.

Select Xerox WorkCentre 480cx Control Program on LPT1.

The Control Program window opens.
Note:
For Windows 3.x:
At system startup, open the Xerox WorkCentre
480cx group from Program Manager. Double-click on the
Xerox
WorkCentre 480cx Control Program icon.
