Xenetech Duo 1218 Installation & Table Manual

Once again, look at the two marks on the paper. If both marks are in the exact same spot, then the beam between
mirror #2 and mirror #3 is parallel and you can move on to step 14. If your marks are NOT hitting the exact same
spot, then you need to adjust the beam so that it is parallel. In that case, please read the section
Aligning the
beam between mirror#2 and mirror #3
before continuing on to step 14.
14.
Move the bridge to the back of the system and move the lens carriage to the far right hand side of the
system so that all of the optics are close together as you did in step 7.
15.
Remove the tape and replace it with a new piece.
16.
Fire the laser to mark the tape.
17.
Stand on the right side of the laser so that you can look directly at the tape and NOT from an angle.
Compare the burn mark on the tape with hole that the tape is covering. The mark should be in the center
or extremely close. If it is not, then make
VERY SMALL
adjustments to mirror #1 to move the beam to the
center.
AT THIS PHASE OF THE ALIGNMENT, ALL SCREW TURNS SHOULD BE VERY SLIGHT. OVER TURNING A SCREW AT
THIS STAGE COULD CAUSE THE BEAM TO OVERSHOOT AN OPTIC AND CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT TO PUT BACK
After you have made the adjustment, remove the tape and replace it with a new piece. Continue to fire the laser,
and make adjustments to mirror #1 until the laser beam is firing in the center of the hole. Once you are able to fire
the tube and not have to make any adjustments, remove the tape and replace mirror #3, the lens and the right
side access panel.
ALIGNING THE BEAM BETWEEN MIRROR#1 AND MIRROR #2
If we take a position check, the bridge should be at the front of the system and the lens carriage is at the right side
of the machine. There should also be two marks on the masking tape that was placed over the lens carriage.
To make the beam parallel to the motion system, both marks that we make must hit the exact same spot. Note
where your first mark was made and where your second mark was made. Once you know this, use the adjustment
screws on mirror #1 to move that second burn mark over the first. To do this,
make small turns to the adjustment screws and fire the tube. This method will
allow you practically “walk” the beam right where you want it.
Tighten screw #1 to move the beam to the right
Loosen screw #1 to move the beam to the left
Tighten screw #2 to move the beam up
Loosen screw #2 to move the beam down
Tighten screw #3 to move the beam down
Loosen screw #3 to move the beam up
Once you have walked the second burn mark over the first burn mark:
1.
Replace the masking tape with a new piece.
2.
Move the bridge to the back of the system and place the lens carriage on the far right hand side.
3.
Fire the tube to make a mark on the tape.
4.
Move the bridge to the front of the machine and fire the tube again to make a second mark.
5.
Check the two marks, if they are in different locations, then repeat the above alignment process.
