Configuring the Xanbus Baud Rate
You can change the Xanbus baud rate for Xantrex Grid Tie Solar
Inverters. Possible values are 250 kbps and 125 kbps.
You cannot change the baud rate for XW system devices and
components.
To change the baud rate:
1. Click Home .
2. Select the new value from the Xanbus Baud Rate drop-down list. See
Figure 3-9.
3. Click Change Baud Rate .
Configuring the Gateway for Your Network
Click Network Configuration to configure the Gateway with basic
networking parameters. If you already have a network, you should be able
to copy some of these values from some of your existing equipment.
Important:
Devices operating on the same bus must have the same baud rate.
You cannot operate devices with different baud rates on the same bus.
Important:
Remote upgrade using the Gateway is not supported on systems
with a 125 kbps baud rate. If you change the baud rate to 125 kbps, then you will
no longer be able to use the Gateway to upgrade the firmware on GT inverters.
You will have to upgrade each inverter in the system using an RS-232 cable and
a laptop.
Important:
Xanbus baud rate is set to 250 kbps by default. If you want to
switch to 125 kbps, make sure to follow the recommended procedure supplied by
Xantrex. See the Application Note, “Xantrex Grid Tie Solar Inverter Baud Rate
Change Procedure” (976-0208-01-01).
