14. MAIN MENU (SETTINGS)
14.6 Measure
MEASURE submenu allows user to toggle the highligh ng crosses (CENTER and MAX), and toggle visualiza on
of the black body ROI (region of interest). Addi onally, the MEASURE submenu allows turning on the ALARM
visualisa on, as well as se ng of two alarm thresholds (preven ve and cri cal).
MEASURE menu consists of following items:
ALARM ON/OFF - toggles whether the alarms are shown or not.
PREVENTIVE ALARM - sets the lower temperature threshold considered in the PREVENTIVE ALARM visu-
aliza on
CRITICAL ALARM - sets the higher temperature threshold considered in the CRITICAL ALARM visualiza on
SHOW CROSS MAX - toggles appearance of the highlight cross which always posi ons itself on the maximal
temperature measured within the view
SHOW CROSS CENTER - toggles appearance of the highlight cross always posi oned at the center of the
screen
SHOW BLACK BODY ROI - toggles appearance of the Black Body ROI, that is posi oned based on SET BLACK
BODY ROI op on.
SHOW USER ROI - toggles appearance of the USER ROI, that is posi oned based on SET USER ROI op on.
This ROI allows the user to monitor desired point in the scene.
SET USER ROI - closes the menu and allows moving and se ng the USER ROI using arrow keys (UP, DOWN,
LEFT, RIGHT) or numeric keys (8, 2, 4, 6) on the numeric keyboard. The posi on of the USER ROI within
the scene is up to the user. To confirm the posi on, press ENTER key. To cancel the posi on se ng, press
BACKSPACE key. A er the posi on se ng is complete, the menu will automa cally reappear.
CORE BODY TEMPERATURE ON/OFF - MEDICAS Thermal contains two modes, SST and CBT measuring
mode. SST or Skin Surface Temperature is the temperature measured on the surface of the human body.
CBT or Core Body Temperature is a mode of the camera that es mates the core temperature of the mea-
sured human body. The camera computes internally the CBT based on the non-linear es ma on that
originated from the sta s cal average of mul ple measurements. This op on toggles the measurement
of the core body temperature (ON) or skin surface temperature (OFF) in the scene. Please read the chapter
6.3 and 6.4 for be er understanding CBT and SST.
