Loosen the bottom jam nut and tighten the top jam nut until the blade guide deflects the blade down 1/4"
(6 mm).

Repeat for the other blade guide.
NOTE:
Be sure that the blade guard clears the blade on both guide assemblies. The guard on the outer
guide assembly should be checked with the arm all the way in and all the way out.

Blade Guide Vertical Tilt Adjustment
Check that the blade guide does not tilt the blade up or down. A Blade Guide Alignment Tool (BGAT) is
provided to help you measure the vertical tilt of the blade.
1.
Open the adjustable blade guide arm 1/2" (15 mm) from full open.
2.
Clamp the alignment tool on the blade. Position the tool close to a blade guide roller. Be sure the tool does
not rest on a tooth or burr, and is lying flat on the blade.
See Figure 6-11.
3.
Measure the distance from the bed rail to the bottom of the tool.
4.
Move the carriage so that the front end of the tool is positioned above the bed rail.
