USAGE INFORMATION
The Water guard Solar animal repeller repels uninvited “visi-
tors” from your garden or property using a harmless water jet.
once the built-in sensor detects a movement within its range of
up to 10 m, it activates the water jet for approx. 5 seconds. most
animals feel annoyed by the water jet and leave the monitored
area. The distribution valve’s clicking sound which is emitted
when the water jet is activated, annoys the animals and helps to
repel them safely. The water jet is only reactivated if the sensor
picks up another movement. This guarantees a high degree
of efectiveness at extremely low water consumption. Repels
small and large birds, dogs, cats, wildlife etc. particularly well
suited to keep herons away from ponds.
CHECKING THE DEVICE
Take the device out of its packing and check whether it or its
components show any signs of damage. Should this be the case,
do not use the device.
START-UP
Screw the sprinkler unit (
A
) into the thread on the upper side
of the sensor housing (
7
). Tightening by hand is suicient to
prevent leakages. do not use excessive force when screwing it
in as this could damage the thread. The valve emits a clicking
sound when active.
To test the device, twist the sensitivity switch (
6
) on the sensor
housing’s back side (
7
) clockwise to position 9. now, move your
hand across the motion sensor (
3
) at the front. You should now
hear the clicking sound. The valve opens and you should hear
the clicking sound for approx. 5 seconds. After that, the device
goes into Idle mode for 5 seconds before the sensor is reacti-
vated. This prevents the animals from getting used to the device
as could happen during permanent use.
now, screw-mount the ground pike (
D
) to the pipe (
C
) and attach
it to the underside of the sensor housing (
7
). Again, please don’t
use excessive force. Tightening by hand is suicient to prevent
leakages. now, insert the device into the ground with the ground
pike and make sure the sprinkler points in the direction you
want the device to monitor. do not put too much pressure on the
housing as this could damage it.
now, adjust the sensitivity of the sensor on the back side (
6
):
position 0: sensor inactive
position 9: monitoring area approx. 10 m
now, connect your garden hose to the connector (4) on the
ground pike.
To adjust the device, you don’t have to turn on the water yet. (In
case you cannot hear the valve’s clicking sound due to heavy
ambient noise, turn the water one to test the device.)
move in front of the sensor (
3
) to identify the sensor’s monitor-
ing area and adjust the sensitivity on the back side accordingly
(
6
) until you have reached the desired distance.
now, you can adjust the sprinkler’s spray angle by altering the
space between the radius limiters (
1
). put some pressure on
them to make them easier to turn. position the limiters in such
a way that the metal bracket works between the two limiters
and the sprinkler points in the desired direction. The further the
limiters are apart, the wider the jet’s angle. Thus, the sprinkler
head can independently move forward and backward between
the limiters.
You can now turn on the water and activate the device. In case
you have to make further adjustments, repeat the previous
steps accordingly.
Note:
To charge the batteries, place or lay down the device at a
sunny spot to make sure the solar panel can transfer enough
energy to the batteries and to make sure the device’s function is
not hampered by insuicient voltage. To safeguard the sensor’s
(
3
) function, clean its lens regularly using a damp and lint-free
cloth.
In case temperatures could fall below zero, don’t leave the
device outside. When storing, please remove the batteries from
the device.
PIR motion sensor detection area
:
The following information on the pIR motion sensor is for
reference purposes only. changeable parameters such as the
weather and surroundings negatively impact the sensor’s
sensitivity.
PIR sensor:
detection angle: approx. 120°
