Cleaning and care
This chapter contains important information on cleaning and care of the
appliance. Keep your appliance clean at all times to ensure a consistently
high coffee quality and trouble-free function.
Safety precautions
WARNING
Observe the following safety precautions before starting to clean the
appliance:
Switch off the appliance and pull the mains plug out of the plug

socket before cleaning.
Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
►
Do not use any scratching, abrasive or corrosive agents. Simply wipe
►
off the housing inside and out with a damp cloth.
Never immerse the appliance, the mains lead or the mains plug in
►
water or other liquids.
Do not clean the appliance or its parts in a dish washer.
►
Never pour water into the coffee bean container or grinding mecha-
►
nism as this would damage the grinding mechanism.
Observe the cleaning and descaling instructions.

Regular cleaning
Remove the waste container (13) and water tank (9) and wipe out the
■
two housings with a damp cloth.
Clean the drip tray (11), cup rest (12), waste container and water tank
■
with warm water, a mild detergent and, if necessary, a brush.
Rinse out the water tank with fresh water. Empty the drip tray at regular
■
intervals, but at the latest when the red filling level indicator becomes
visible through the opening in the cup rest.
