Boost
The Boost
control governs how much of the bass enhancement gets
mixed back into the main programming. We do not recommend any
more than 4dB of enhancement to prevent over‑enhancement of bass
on narrow band AM radios.
Main Clipper Drive
This control is basically the output of the five band limiter to the
clipper. Higher numbers yield louder audio with the traditional “loud
‑
ness vs clean” tradeoff. The drive should be between 0dB and +2dB
for competitive formats and ‑2dB to 0dB for classical or fine arts/talk
programming.
Pre-Emphasis
Sets the pre‑emphasis curve to match what is required for your region
and transmission system. The options are
Flat, pre50uS, and NRSC.
AM Diversity Delay
The AM‑55 is equipped with an internal digital delay to compensate
for the corresponding delay in the analog signal path of stations using
the HD Radio codec. The delay section is capable of providing up to
ten seconds of compensating delay in steps of 100 microseconds.
When the AM Diversity Delay controls are set to their minimum settings,
OFF
appears in the Samples window to signal that there is no delay the AM signal path.
You can use the sliders to set the delay, or you can input a delay value in either
Samples or Seconds
manually by typing in the value you require by left clicking in the
appropriate box, entering the value and pressing ENTER. The diversity delay will then
shift to that value.
