Only CR39, polycarbonate, high index (HI) and Trivex™ can be drilled.
>
A mineral lens cannot be drilled.

HOLE
POSITIONING
>
Whatever the type of hole, it must be drilled in a specific zone which is defined following the diagrams below.
>
The following constraints must be respected :
→
the circle radius beyond which drilling is possible :
Note : If a job includes a hole wich cannot be drilled (Hole positionned in the axis end fittings,
notches going through the center of the shape, etc...), this hole will be displayed in
black. Some holes displayed in blue when the shape is called up, may be undrillable
after the lens has been felt (Hole too deep, unapropriate angle, unapropriate axis end
fitting fitted, etc...). In this case, those holes will be displayed in gray and simply
pointed by the end of the drill bit (tilted to maximum) during the drilling phase, this
after acceptation of the marking by the operator.
→
the ring formed by the edge of the lens and the internal perimeter of the lens beyond which
drilling is forbidden :

Note : If a job includes a hole placed at a distance of more than 12 mm from the edge of the
shape, the following message is displayed : "Hole deleted. At least one of the holes
cannot be drilled. Do you want to continue? ». If you reply Yes : The entire drilling
plan is ignored, the lens is not drilled and finished in rimless. If you reply No, you
can remove the lens from the drilling chamber.
Min. distance centre of block -> centre of hole
= 19 mm (0°) or 15.25 (30°)
Zone inside which drilling is banned.
Zone inside which drilling is allowed.
Max. distance drill bit centre -> edge of lens
= 12 mm
