step 1: hinging the Ailerons
❑
Cut three hinge slots in the leading edge of each aileron, then slide the
hinges into place, using the same techniques that you did to install the hinges
in the elevator and the rudder. Position the hinges at the locations shown.
❑
Cut the corresponding hinge slots in the trailing edge of the wing, then
hinge the ailerons to the wing, using the same techniques that you used to
hinge the elevator and the rudder.
❑
After allowing the C/A to completely cure, gently pull on the ailerons to check the integrity of the hinges. The hinges should hold
securely. If one or more hinges is loose, apply more C/A to the hinge(s).
step 2: instAlling the Aileron Control horns
❑
Cut away the covering material from over
only the bottom
of the control
horn mounting slot in each aileron.
❑
Glue the control horns into the mounting slots, making sure that the control
horns are facing forward.
step 3: instAlling the Aileron serVos
❑
Cut away the covering material from over the servo lead exit holes in the
bottom of the wing, then cut away the covering material from over the servo
mounting holes.
❑
Pull the servo leads through the wing from the servo mounting holes and
out the servo lead exit holes, then mount your servos into the wing.
IMPORTANT
Install the servos so that the output shafts are toward the
wing tips. Depending on the size of your servos, you may need to enlarge
the servo mounting holes.
❑
Install a servo extension lead onto each of your aileron servos.
