step 2: instAlling the Center Wing
❑
Cut away the covering material from over the top and bottom of the
wing-screw mounting holes in the center wing, then cut away the covering
material from over the outer wing strut mounting slots in both the top and
the bottom of the wing.
❑
Apply a couple of drops of thin C/A into the center wing mounting holes
in the fuselage and let it dry completely.
IMPORTANT
There are a total of four outer wing struts included. For this step, make sure that you are using the two that are
labeled "DOWN". These are for the bottom wing. "DOWN" is lasered on the lower mounting tab.
Before installing the two outer wing struts in the next procedure, make sure that you install them so that they are angled
forward
and that mounting tab with the "DOWN" label is glued into the bottom wing.
❑
Fit and glue the two outer wing struts into the mounting slots in the top
of the bottom wing.
IMPORTANT
Again, make sure that you install the outer wing struts so
that they are angled forward and that the mounting tab with the "DOWN"
label is glued into the wing.
IMPORTANT
In the next two procedures, you'll install the center wing.
Do not
glue the outer wing struts to the center wing.
If you do, it will be impossible to remove either the bottom wing or the center wing from the fuselage. The outer wing struts fit into
the center wing without using glue.
❑
Gently flex the ends of the bottom wing down, then push the mounting
tab in the outer wing struts into the wing strut mounting slots in the bottom
of the center wing.
☞
Again, do not glue the outer wing struts to the center wing.
❑
Mount the center wing to the fuselage, using the remaining two M3 x 25mm
machine screws.
IMPORTANT
Be careful not to overtighten the machine screws. The
screws need only be tightened snugly.
