CAUTION
The hoist cable must be wound onto the drum under a load of at least
10% of the rated line pull or the outer wraps will draw into inner wraps
and damage hoist cable.
Before operating the hoist under load you should check proper
function of the hoist by operating the directional controls. This
will ensure that the hoist is working properly and will help prevent
unintended damage and injury. Cycling the hoist prior to loading will
also ensure the gears are properly aligned.
HOIST ASSEMBLY AND MOUNTING
1. Make sure that the mounting structure can withstand the full rated
lift of the hoist.
2. Ensure that the hoist frame will not deform under twice the full rated
load of the hoist.
Spool from underneath drum
WARNING
Always spool the hoist rope onto the drum in the direction specified
by the drum rotation labels on the hoist.
3. Your hoist is designed with a bolt pattern that is standard in
this class of hoist. Proper alignment of the hoist will allow even
distribution of the full rated load and reduce the chance of damaging
hoist or equipment. Poor installation contributes to approx 90%
equipment or hoist damage.
4. Make sure the mounting surface is flat.
5. Mount your hoists using the mounting bolts supplied. Use bolt
and washer combinations supplied to prevent vibrations during
operation.
6. Connect the battery and motor leads. Remember every type of hoist
is different.
7. Assemble the Clevis Hook to the cable. Take off the pin from the
Clevis Hook, connect the Clevis Hook to the cable and mount the pin
back to the Clevis Hook.
8. Check for proper drum rotation. Press the cable out button on the
remote lead switch. If the drum is turning and releasing cable, then
your connections are accurate. If the drum is turning and collecting
more cable, then reverse the leads on the motor. Repeat and check
rotation.
MOUNT CONTACTOR (OpTIONAL)
WARNING
Never mount the contactor where it may be hit or damaged. Keep the
terminals clear from any metal or conductive objects.
It is possible to mount your contactor separately should you wish.
1. Disconnect the vehicle battery cables.
2. Find a solid mounting surface that is clean, dry and easily accessible.
3. Ensure that the location provide sufficient clearance from metal
objects.
4. Remove the screws holdings the contactor to its bracket.
5. Remove and open up control box (if applicable)
6. Mount the contactor upright to avoid any water water collection in
the cover.
7. Ensure that the contactor will not be damaged by tools or heavy
objects.
WIRING
WARNING
Always insulate and protect all exposed wiring and electrical
terminals.
WARNING
Never route electrical cables across sharp edges or against objects
that might get hot.
Never route electrical cables through or near moving parts.
1. Confirm the power is disconnected.
2. Use the supplied battery cables or use the correct gauge cable for all
power connections.
