3-Phase Power Measurement Module, 1 A
Also, the energy values for determining energy consumption can be read out at the S0 in-
terface. This requires corresponding configuration of the “DO” switch output. All mea-
sured values can also be saved as a CSV file (“data logging”) on a micro SD card.
4.7 Communication per Modbus RTU
Register communication with the master (higher-level PLC) is per the “Modbus RTU” pro-
tocol. Three Modbus functions are implemented for this:
• 0x03 Read Holding Registers (read product parameters)
• 0x04 Read Input Registers (read measured values))
• 0x10 Write Multiple Registers (write produvt parameters)
The physical interfaces per RS-485 are the RJ-45 ports “X1 IN” and “X2 OUT.” In addi-
tion, a line structure configuration (“Daisy Chain Configuration”) can be facilitated via both
interfaces.

If an error occurs during the transmission, an error message is sent to the sender. The er-
ror codes could be:
• 0x01 Illegal function (unsupported Modbus function)
• 0x02 Illegal data address (data telegram too long or too short))
• 0x03 Illegal data value (checksum incorrect)

4.7.1 Modbus Configurator in WAGO I/O-PRO
This section describes an example how the Modbus configurator can be used to establish
communication between the power measurement module and a PC, with the help of
WAGO I/O Systems 750/753
. The Modbus configurator can be called up through either
WAGO I/O-PRO
or
e!
COCKPIT
.
The following steps are exemplary and require the specific hardware configuration of the
product with connection to a PC and PFC200 (Art.-Nr. 750-8206).
