6.6 Recommended Burner Nozzles
Background Burner nozzles come in many different sizes and ratings. The following illustrates
the meaning of the common numbers found on burner nozzles.

Ref Parameter Description
a Flow rating Flow rating is determined at 100 psi using #2 oil.
b Spray angle Angle of the spray pattern. In this case, the spray
angle is 45°.
c Spray pattern The shape of the spray pattern. In this case, “B” ini-
cates a solid cone-shaped spray pattern.
