Sewing in zippers
Sewing zippers in the centre
Caution: Only use pattern A with stitch width
5 (centre).
You must turn the hand wheel and check that
the needle does not touch the presser foot.
1 With the standard presser foot, sew
straight stitches until the zipper bottom
stop and reinforcing stitches by means of
the reverse stitch button. Then, tack until
the edge of the fabric.

2 Fold the seam allowance apart, place the
zipper in the middle and tack it.

3 Remove the standard presser foot, insert
the zipper foot into the presser foot holder
and attach it. On the top side of the fabric,
sew at a distance of approx. 8 mm to
10 mm from the seam allowance.
Remove the tacking thread. Sew in the
direction indicated.
Caution
• The needle must not touch the zip teeth.
It can break or lead to injuries.
• When using the one-sided zipper foot,
make sure that the straight stitch with
pattern “A” and stitch width 5 (centre) is
set.
