Buttonholes
Selecting the stitch length
By turning the stitch length dial in the direction
“0” or “1”, the stitch length of the buttonhole
seam or the bar can be changed.
Sewing stretch fabrics
When sewing buttonholes into stretch fabrics,
insert a cord into the buttonhole hem.
Lift the buttonhole foot and hook the cord into
the spur at the back of the buttonhole foot.
Guide the ends of the cords forward under the
buttonhole foot and tie them together
provisionally at the front end of the buttonhole
foot. Lower the presser foot lifter and sew the
buttonhole (see previous section).
After completing the sewing process, lightly
pull the cord to tension the thread. Then, cut
the excess cord ends.
