Allocated HDD Space
– Set at the factory to the size of the database memory. However, you can manually
modify the maximum size of the archive to trigger a warning to create a backup before the primary database is
full.

NOTE
The scanner’s hard drive is dedicated solely towards archiving scans and images. Under normal
operating parameters, an administrator should not need to modify this setting.

First Warning
– You can set the maximum memory size (in
Allocated HDD Space
); or alternatively, you can
set the minimum remaining memory available ( First Warning ), before the warning appears. For example, if the
archive size is 10 GB, setting
First Warning
to 1 GB displays the warning when the database is at 9 GB.

Backup Policy
– Used to specify the action to be taken when the archive reaches capacity. Two options are
available:
o
Erase oldest files – Select the number of days after which the archives will be erased in order to create
space for future scan images.
o
Make a backup copy – Alerts the operator to move information from the database to an external storage
device. An alert appears when the disk is full and a prompt appears to create a backup copy. The alert will
occur each time the software starts until the data has been moved to an external device.

NOTE
Deciding to not create a backup (move the files off the scanner’s database), causes the system to stop
saving data and does not overwrite any files. The scanner will continue to function but no data will be
saved.
6.4.1 Warnings
When the database size reaches the set memory size, a warning appears. The warning prompts the user to make a
backup copy of the existing information. Clicking
