5. Ensure that your hands are dry before connecting the unit to the
mains.
6. If a wall mount is required, this charger features spanner hole slots for
conveniently hanging the unit. The screws should be fitted with a minimum
centre spacing of 102 mm.
5 Charging/operating information
Follow the information in the Operating Manual in order to avoid
the risk of injury as the result of electric shock
New accumulators do not reach full capacity until after approxi-
mately 5 charges.
Accumulators must not be fully discharged before charging.
1. Prepare the charger as described in the “Checking and preparing the
charger” Section.
2. The yellow LED blinks continuously while the charger is in Standby
mode (ready to charge).
3. Ensure that your hands are dry and insert the accumulator in the charger.
Charging starts automatically.
• The yellow LED may light steadily up to 2 seconds while the state of the
accumulator is checked.
• If the accumulator is unable to make contact correctly, the accumulator
or the charger is damaged or the red LED lights steadily. Check the ac-
cumulator contacts by removing the accumulator and reinserting it in the
charger.
• The green LED blinks (on 50% of the time, off 50% of the time) during
charging.
• The accumulator feels slightly warm during charging. This is normal and
does not indicate a problem.
• When the accumulator is 85 % charged, the blink pattern of the green
LED changes (on 95 % of the time, off 5 % of the time). The accumulator
may be able to be used in this state. However, leave the accumulator
plugged in to reach 100 % charge state.
• The red LED lights steadily if the accumulator or the charger is too hot or
too cold. The red LED goes out again as soon as the accumulator and
charger have once again reached the correct temperature between 5°C
and 35°C. Charging starts automatically, and the green LED blinks until
the accumulator is fully charged.
4. The green LED lights steadily when the accumulator is fully charged. The
accumulator can then be removed and is ready for use. You can find a de-
tailed description of the LED indications in the „LED diagnostics“ section.
• The charged accumulator may remain in the charger until needed. There
is no risk of overcharging the accumulator. The charger automatically
switches over to trickle charging if the accumulator is fully charged.
5. Ensure that your hands are dry and disconnect the mains lead from the
socket outlet when charging is complete.
6 Cleaning information
Disconnect the charger from the mains before cleaning. Do not
clean the charger with water or chemicals so as to avoid the risk of
electric shock.
If it is necessary to clean the charger, proceed as described below:
1. Disconnect the charger from the mains.
2. Take any accumulator out of the charger.
3. Clean the charger and the accumulator on the outside
Remove dirt and grease with a soft cloth or a soft, non-metallic brush.
