tains explanations of this warning information and of these symbols. Not
all safety symbols listed can be used on this product.

2 Special safety information

specifically to this unit. Before using the charger, please read the
safety information carefully in order to avoid the risk of an electric
shock or serious injury.

2.1 Safety information on the accumulator charger
• Use only the rechargeable VIEGA
®
accumulators or batteries listed
in the “Accessories” Section with the VIEGA accumulator charger.
Other types of accumulator may explode and cause injuries and damage
to property.
• Do not test the charger with conductive objects.
Shorting accumulator connectors may lead to sparking, burns or electric
shock.
• Do not insert an accumulator in the charger if the charger has been
damaged owing to dropping it or other reasons.
A damaged charger
increases the risk of electric shock.
• The accumulators must be charged at temperatures between 5°C
and 35°C. Store charger and accumulators at temperatures between
20°C and 40°C.
Careful care prevents damage to the accumulators. Es-
cape of electrolyte (battery fluid), electric shock and burns may occur if
accumulators are handled improperly.
