REMOVAL OF THE FIXING BLOCK
If you have a head that seems clogged, check the junction between the cooling block and the fixing block (where the PTFE
tube stops) before completely disassembling it. It is possible that a piece of material is clogged here, and that the head itself
is not in question.
1)
After disassembling the head, remove the clip from the
filament guide tube (Capricorn XS, dark blue) and push
the tip in with a finger, at the same time removing the
tube from its housing.
2)
Use a 1.5mm Allen key or screwdriver to unscrew the 2
clamping screws of the fixing block.
3)
Once the clamp block is removed, check and clean the
filament hole entrance (shown in red in the image) for
any obstructions.
4)
If necessary, unclog the duct using a 1.8mm HSS drill
(supplied) by hand. Do not use power tools as you may
damage the polished copper conduit walls. Never use a
drill bit above 1.8mm as this will irreparably damage
your thermal barrier.
5)
Once unblocked, reassemble the fixing block with a key
or a 1.5mm Allen screwdriver, tightening moderately.
