Use a fingertip and apply a bead of silicone grease
on top of the two O-rings on the coiled cable
connector.
Feed the coiled cable with lanyards through
the spring. Feed an amount that is comfortable to
work with.
Use a nylon cable tie to compress some of the coils in the spring.
This will give you a few inches of space to work in while attaching
the coiled cable.
