PowerDome Installation Manual
To make the cable connections perform the following.
1)
Prepare the cables as shown in Figure 31.
RS485
24 VAC
Twisted-pair video
(if used)
Strip ends of
wires
Coaxial video
(if used)
Terminate video
cable with BNC
connector

CAUTION:
Do not connect the 24 VAC power cable to the video or RS485 connection because it will damage the
PowerDome.
Note:
There are two versions of the PowerDome interface module depending on whether video is being sent via coaxial
cable (PowerDome Coaxial Interface Module) or unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) wire (PowerDome UTP Interface Module).
See Figure 32 or Figure 33.
2)
Make the cable connections to the interface module. Allow approximately 76 mm (3 in.) of cable for
connections.
3)
Insert the PowerDome interconnect cable into the RJ45 jack on the interface module. See Figure 32
or Figure 33.
4)
Connect the heater/fan power cable to the 2-pin Molex connector on the module. See Figure 32 or
Figure 33.
