• To ignite the burning paste use matches instead of a (gas) lighter. We refer to the
burning paste instructions for further advice.
• When the burner is lit, close the air vents partly before placing the pan on the pan
holder.
• When the flame is ‘leaking’ around the pan body after you placed it on the holder,
close the air vents in the burner a bit more to reduce the flame.
• When moving the pan always use an oven mitt or pan holder. The pan can get very
hot during use. Avoid burning yourself to the pan or other components of the set.
• Never move the complete fondue set when installed and operating.
• Always extinguish the flame before moving the pan.
• Pat dry the meat or food before putting it into the fondue to avoid splashing.
Marinated meat or food also has the tendency to splash when it comes into
contact with hot oil.
• Always use the stainless steel forks to fondue. Fork tips are sharp, avoid
scratching on the pan bottom.
• It is advised to only fondue small amounts of meat at the same time
(2-3 pieces). When adding too much food, oil temperature will drop to fast
and water will appear on the bottom of the pan. When the temperature rises,
this water will evaporate and can cause air bubbles or splashing. Pay attention
that the temperature of the fat/oil or broth does not drop too much.
• To extinguish the flame place the snuffer over the burner.
• Never try to blow out the flame.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS AND MAINTENANCE
• Never overheat the cookware.
• Do not use in the microwave or dishwasher.
• To avoid damaging the worktop/surface always lift cast iron products when
moving them.
• Leave the pan to cool down after use and remove all content. Wipe the inside
of the pan with kitchen paper to remove the main fat remainder.
• Clean the product after each use with warm water, a mild detergent and soft
sponge or brush.
• Resistant food residue can be removed from the pan by soaking it with hot water
for some minutes. Use a non-abrasive cleaning detergent to clean afterwards.
Do not use metallic pads or harsh abrasive cleaning agents as these will damage
the enamel.
• Wipe dry the product with a kitchen towel and make sure the product is
completely dry before storing it.
