Checking the refrigerant circuit for leaks
Danger
R 410A is a non-poisonous gas
that displaces air. Uncontrolled
escape of refrigerant R 410A in
enclosed spaces can cause
breathing difficulties and suffoca-
tion.
■ Ensure adequate ventilation in
enclosed spaces.
■ Observe and adhere to regula-
tions and guidelines on han-
dling refrigerant.
Danger
Direct contact with refrigerant
can harm skin.
Wear safety goggles and protec-
tive gloves when working on the
refrigerant circuit.
Check the connections for refrigerant
leaks:
■ All swaged connections of the refrig-
erant lines between the internal and
the external unit.
■ All solder joints and threaded fittings of
the refrigerant lines in the internal and
external units.
Note
Work on the refrigerant circuit may only
by carried out by certified personnel
(according to EC Directives 842/2006
and 303/2008).
Filling and venting on the secondary side
Unsuitable fill and top-up water increa-
ses the level of deposits and corrosion
and may lead to system damage.
Observe VDI 2035 regarding the quality
and amount of heating water, incl. fill and
top-up water.
■ Flush the heating system thoroughly
before filling.
■ Only fill with water of potable quality.
■ Soften fill water with a hardness above
16.8 °dH (3.0 mol/m
3
), e.g. with the
small softening system for heating
water (see the Viessmann Vitoset
pricelist).
